Volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS) as a novel tool for TDM samples collection in pediatric transplant recipients – lights and shadows
This webinar will be on September 9th, 2025 (15:00 CET)
The webinar will specifically focus about Immunosuppressants (ISDs), the basic elements of therapy after organ transplantation to protect against acute and chronic rejections. Volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS) is a new, self-managed alternative tool for blood sampling, transport, and storage (stability for up to 21 days under normal conditions).
Speakers:
-Dr. Jacek Rubik, pediatric nephrologist, transplantologist. Department of Nephrology, Transplantation and Arterial Hypertension.
-Dr. Arkadiusz Kocur, pharmacist, pharmacokineticst. Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Toxicology Unit.
-Dr. Agnieszka Czajkowska, laboratory diagnostician, toxicologist. Department of Drug Chemistry, Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, Medical University of Warsaw.
Learning outcomes: After attending the webinar, participants were able to:
a) Recognize the novel microsampling devices and microsampling strategy,
b) Identify the potential clinical problems during routine TDM of immunosuppressants,
c) Identify the strengths and weaknesses of microsampling strategy and its future directions,
d) Initiate the introduction of preliminary studies according to TDM of immunosuppressive treatment using microsampling devices and available literature.
Accreditation: “The Volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS) as a novel tool for TDM samples collection in pediatric transplant recipients – lights and shadows, 2025-09-09, Spain has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 0.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.”
“Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at https://edhub.ama-assn.org/pages/applications“
“Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.”
